Welcome to White Oak Psychiatric Services

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the United States experiences a mental illness in a given year, highlighting the widespread and common nature of mental health challenges. It’s crucial to prioritize mental well-being and seek support when needed to lead a healthier and more fulfilling life.

A psychiatrist’s office typically offers a range of services related to mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Here is a short list of services that a psychiatrist’s office may provide:

  1. Psychiatric Evaluation: Comprehensive assessment of a patient’s mental health through interviews and psychological assessments to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan.
  2. Medication Management: Prescribing and monitoring the use of psychiatric medications to manage mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
  3. Treatment Planning: Collaboratively developing a personalized treatment plan, which may include therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, and coping strategies.
  4. Individual Psychotherapy: Offering one-on-one therapy sessions to address personal issues, concerns, and coping strategies.
  5. Family Therapy: Working with families to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and support individuals with mental health issues.
  6. Spravato (Esketamine) Treatment: Administering and monitoring the use of Spravato for individuals with treatment-resistant depression or other psychiatric conditions.
  7. Referrals: Recommending and connecting patients with other mental health professionals or services, such as psychologists, social workers, or inpatient facilities when needed.
  8. Second Opinions: Offering a second opinion on a patient’s diagnosis or treatment plan, especially when a patient seeks additional input or confirmation.
  9. Education and Support: Offering educational resources and support for patients and their families to help them better understand and manage mental health conditions.
  10. Follow-up and Monitoring: Regularly checking in with patients to assess progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure continued support for ongoing mental health needs.
